Welcome To Hampton College

hpWelcome to the Hampton College website; I hope it will show you why we are so proud of our school.

Hampton College opened in 2005 and has grown steadily each year since then. The school has enjoyed significant success in recent years, both in terms of recognition from OFSTED (three full inspections all Good or Outstanding) and in our public examination results.  This year we posted our best ever GCSE results: 74% of our Year 11 students gained five or more A*-C passes, including Mathematics and English.  This success means that for the fourth year in a row, we have been one of the top performing schools at GCSE in the East of England and have maintained our membership of the prestigious Leading Edge group (an alliance of England’s top performing state schools).

All-through status and an expanded, state-of-the-art campus

We are now well into an era of new development and change at the college. Last year we became one of a very small number of state schools who are ‘all through’ schools.  This September we have been delighted to move Reception and Year One into our purpose built Primary Phase accommodation on Clayburn Road. We now aim to grow to be a centre of excellence in teaching and learning for children and young people          aged 4-19.

After years of living with major construction work, we are pleased that autumn 2013 sees us moved in to the new blocks on the secondary site too and to have our purpose built sixth form study centre fully commissioned.  Additional new facilities added in the last six months include: a gymnasium and dance studio; additional science laboratories; design technology facilities and new classrooms.

Hampton ethos

I feel privileged to be Headteacher at a time when we have so much to look forward to and so many positive achievements and advantages to build upon: my predecessor, Peter Hains, left us a rich legacy in terms of school ethos and educational attainment.  Our vision is to maintain the founding values of the college, which have served us so well, whilst moving the school forward and meeting the needs of a growing student body.

The mission of Hampton College can be summed up in two words from our Vision and Values document: People and Learning.  We have been fortunate to be able to recruit outstanding teachers and excellent support staff, who work together to offer the students a stimulating learning experience in lessons, within a caring setting.  As we look to the future, Hampton College is well placed to go from strength to strength and for our students to grow into successful and responsible citizens.

I hope that this website will provide you with the information you are looking for.   Please feel welcome to contact us, should you require further assistance.
