Welcome to the Hampton College website; I hope it will show you why we are so proud of our school.
Hampton College opened in 2005 and has grown steadily each year since then. The school has enjoyed significant success in recent years, both in terms of recognition from OFSTED (three full inspections all Good or Outstanding) and in our public examination results. This year we posted our best ever GCSE results : in 2014 75% of our Year 11 students gained five or more A*-C passes, including Mathematics and English. This success means that for the fifth year in a row, we have been one of the top performing schools at GCSE in the East of England and have maintained our membership of the prestigious Leading Edge group (an alliance of England’s top performing state schools).
Academy Status and All-through education
On 1 September 2014 Hampton College became an academy. The school is now run by our own educational trust: the Hampton Academies Trust. We are what is termed a ‘converter academy’, which means that as a successful school, we have been approved by the Department for Education to form our own trust and to run our own affairs. When we converted to academy status, we chose to form a multi-academy trust, which enables us to add other schools to the trust in the future, should we wish to.
We are also one of a small number of state schools that are ‘all through’ schools. In September 2013 we opened our purpose built Primary Phase accommodation on Clayburn Road, adding to our existing modern secondary campus on Eagle Way. We are now growing into a centre of excellence in teaching and learning for children and young people aged 4-19.
The mission of Hampton College can be summed up in two words from our Vision and Values document: People and Learning. We have been fortunate to be able to recruit outstanding teachers and excellent support staff, who work together to offer the students a stimulating learning experience in lessons, within a caring setting. As we look to the future, Hampton College is well placed to go from strength to strength and for our students to grow into successful and responsible citizens.
